SNOHOMISH — A 14-year-old Snohomish boy was on a family camping trip when he drowned Sunday in the south fork of the Skykomish River. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him Wednesday.
Jesse Paietta was found unresponsive in the water by a man fishing just past noon Sunday. The man pulled him to shore. Medics performed CPR and took him to a medical facility, but he didn’t survive. The medical examiner classified the cause of death as drowning.
The boy was found next to the Money Creek Campground in Skykomish.
The Morning Star Lutheran Church in Monroe held a vigil for Paietta on Tuesday.
