EVERETT — An Everett woman was arrested Wednesday after a drive-by shooting in the Silver Lake area, according to a police report. Nobody was injured.
The suspect, 35, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault, second-degree malicious mischief and drive-by shooting.
Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the suspect was arguing with a man seated in an SUV near the Safeway at 111030 19th Ave. SE, according to an Everett police officer’s report.
The man drove away. The woman allegedly pointed a .380-caliber pistol at his SUV and opened fire, hitting a back tire. The man kept driving north on 19th Avenue.
The woman got in a red Toyota Camry and chased the man for several blocks, police wrote. She drove up next to the SUV and allegedly fired at the man. A bullet hit the passenger-side door, according to court papers.
The woman drove off.
If the door had not stopped the bullet, it would have hit the man, an officer wrote.
Everett police showed up to the woman’s home in the 3000 block of Grand Avenue later in the morning. They ordered her to come outside. She reportedly refused. Officers took caution to surround the home, unsure if the woman was armed, officer Aaron Snell said.
The woman did not leave her home for hours. When she came out, around 5 p.m., officers arrested her.
District Court Judge Tam Bui found probable cause Thursday afternoon for first-degree assault and drive-by shooting. She set the woman’s bail at $100,000.
The woman and the man knew each other, the judge said in the courtroom.
