Driver identified in fatal Stanwood crash

STANWOOD — A Stanwood man who died in a head-on crash Monday has been identified.

Bryan Michels, 39, was driving east in a Volkswagen Jetta on Highway 532 at 64th Avenue when he crossed into the westbound lane and crashed into a Ford F-150, according to Washington State Patrol.

Michels was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he died, the Washington State Patrol reported. The Ford driver, 43, of Stanwood, was also taken to the hospital.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Michels on Friday. He died of blunt force injuries.
