Pedestrian killed by train near U.S. 2 in Sultan

SULTAN — A pedestrian was hit by a train and killed Thursday afternoon near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Mann Road, according to first responders.

Sultan Police Department officers and Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies responded around 1 p.m., said Chief Seth Johnson of Snohomish County Fire District 5.

The man died at the scene.

The train was stopped during the investigation, blocking Mann Road.
