1 dead in car crash west of Monroe

SNOHOMISH — A woman died Wednesday night in a single-car crash west of Monroe, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 9:30 p.m., the driver, 45, veered to the left in the 13900 block of Old Tester Road, sheriff’s spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe wrote Thursday. The vehicle struck a utility pole, causing the car to roll down into a ditch filled with standing water.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the car.

The deceased woman had not been publicly identified as of Thursday.

It remained an active investigation.
