Everett police arrest suspect in connection with Wednesday fire

EVERETT — Police arrested a man in connection with a residential fire destroyed a house under construction and damaged adjacent homes Wednesday morning in Everett.

Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, the Everett Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a structure fire in the alley of the 1900 block of Lombard Avenue.

When crews arrived, they saw a house under construction fully engulfed in flames, according to an Everett Fire Facebook post.

Flames had also reached a second house that was under construction. Firefighters extinguished the flames within about 20 minutes.

On Wednesday evening, Everett police arrested a suspect and booked him into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of arson and burglary.

The primary house suffered a total loss, and the second had exterior damage.

There were no occupants in either of the houses.

Another nearby home and a gazebo sustained minor damage.
