EVERETT — Kirkland Police arrested an Everett man suspected of 22 burglaries across four counties between April and July.

In April, the 40-year-old man allegedly broke into several businesses in Kirkland’s Houghton neighborhood overnight. The suspect smashed windows to enter the buildings and used power tools to open cash safes and tills.

Kirkland and cities across King, Snohomish, Pierce and Thurston counties reported similar burglaries over the next few months.

Investigators identified a vehicle tied to the crimes and served several search warrants, which led them to the suspect.

On July 23, Kirkland Detectives arrested the man in Snohomish County. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of 20 felony-related charges for the 12 King County burglaries. He was released after posting a $150,000 bond.

Snohomish, Pierce and Thurston county prosecutors are expected to file additional charges, according to a post on Kirkland’s Police Department Facebook. Detectives do not believe anyone else was involved at this time.
