With two outs in the top of the first, Szykowny belted a solo home run to right-center field for his 20th long ball of the year to give Eugene (41-16, 73-50) an early lead. Two innings later, Nate Furman doubled and Jonah Cox singled, allowing Szykowny to hit an RBI single to right field to extend Eugene’s edge to 2-0.
