EVERETT — Everett police are investigating a stabbing that left one man wounded Thursday evening in Everett.
Around 5:49 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at Wiggums Hollow Park. When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s who had been stabbed, according to an Everett Police Department social media post.
The male suspect’s juvenile girlfriend provided officers with a video of the alleged assault, court documents said. In the video, a 19-year-old man can be seen on top of the victim before running away moments later. Officers found the suspect’s 2.5- to 3-inch folding knife in the grass nearby.
A witness told officers she saw a man bragging about stabbing someone and repeating multiple times “that he stabbed him,” court documents said.
First responders transported the victim to the hospital for undisclosed injuries.
The suspect’s apartment was located around 140 feet away from the northwest side of the park where the assault occurred, court documents said. When officers arrived at the apartment, they found blood in the front entryway, the living room, hallway floors and the bedroom. The suspect emerged from the apartment with a laceration on one of his hands.
The man was booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of assault.
