EVERETT —Multiple suspects who allegedly broke into a Lynnwood cannabis dispensary threw a fire extinguisher at a pursuing police vehicle on Monday morning.
Around 2:40 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to reports of a burglary at Euphorium, 20925 Cypress Way, according to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe in an email. A nearby Lynnwood police officer also responded and interrupted the burglary.
Three suspect vehicles, each containing multiple suspects, fled the scene, O’Keefe said. Lynnwood police followed two of the vehicles, both stolen Hyundais, which were headed westbound toward I-5. The third vehicle split off.
The suspects used a fire extinguisher in an attempt to deploy a smoke screen before throwing the extinguisher out of the car at the pursuing Lynnwood officer, O’Keefe said.
Deputies joined the pursuit on I-5 southbound before exiting in Seattle near Exit 162. Lynnwood officers and deputies split into two pursuits; however, the vehicles were lost after exiting in Seattle, O’Keefe said.
Eventually, both vehicles were recovered and impounded for evidence. Law enforcement also recovered a stolen gun from the scene, O’Keefe said.
This remains an active investigation.
