EVERETT — A rollover collision injured two individuals and blocked U.S. 2 for around four hours Wednesday in Everett.

Around noon Wednesday, two Lake Stevens residents were in a 2015 Chevy Silverado that was traveling north on I-5 near U.S. 2 when the driver, 60, struck a guardrail before continuing east on U.S. 2, according to a Washington State Patrol press release. The car then struck the attenuator and left the flyover to 20th Street Southeast, where it came to rest in the westbound lane of U.S 2 at State Route 204.

Around 12:25 p.m., fire crews responded to reports of the collision, according to an Everett Fire Department social media post. Upon arrival, firefighters began working to extinguish a fire that involved the vehicle.

First responders transported the driver and the passenger, 77, to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Around 4:12 p.m., law enforcement reopened all lanes, according to a Washington Department of Transportation social media post. Initially, law enforcement reopened the eastbound U.S. 2 ramp to State Route 204 around 3:25 p.m. while westbound lanes near milepost 2 remained blocked.

Correction: A previous version of this story said the roadway had reopened when the westbound lanes remained blocked. All lanes are open now.
