High winds leave thousands in the county without power

EVERETT — Nearly 19,000 Snohomish Public Utility District customers were without power in Snohomish County as of Monday afternoon due to storm-related damage.

The outages impacted 2,358 customers in Everett, more than 3,700 in Snohomish, 1,484 in Arlington, 1,386 in the Tulalip area, and hundreds more in Lynnwood, Bothell, Snohomish, Lake Stevens and Arlington.

High winds caused the outages, PUD spokesperson Aaron Swaney said.

A wind advisory is in effect from the National Weather Service, and a high wind watch will begin Tuesday evening. Wind gusts could reach 65 miles per hour this week, according to the National Weather Service.
