EVERETT — One man was injured after an early Friday morning police pursuit throughout Mukilteo, which resulted in the suspect fleeing on foot before falling down a ravine.
Around 12:30 a.m. Friday, officers attempted to contact a vehicle parked after hours in the Mukilteo Community Garden, according to a Mukilteo Police Department social media post. When an officer approached, the vehicle fled and “was driven recklessly through the city.”
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on suspicion of a DUI, but the driver failed to yield, initiating a pursuit, the post said. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle damaged property before crashing in a neighborhood off Mukilteo Boulevard. The driver fled the scene on foot.
Officers requested assistance from neighboring agencies and K-9 units from the Everett Police Department and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement took the suspect into custody after locating him down a ravine near Lamarr Drive, the post said.
First responders transported the suspect to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett due to injuries sustained while falling down the ravine. No injuries were reported for officers or community members.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including eluding, malicious mischief, reckless driving and additional related offenses, the post said.
