Kimberly Beard places 2nd at Nike Indoor Nationals

Kimberly Beard, a Mukilteo resident who attends King’s High School, finished second in the 20-pound weight throw at the Nike Indoor Nationals, held in New York on March 12-15.
Representing the Get Strong First Track Club, Beard set a Washington state record with a throw of 59 feet, 4.75 inches at The Armory Track and Field Center. The senior was edged by Vanessa Jones of Rhode Island, who won the Championship Division of the event with a mark of 59-5.
Beard, who led the Knights to the 2025 Class 1A state girls track and field title, also competed in the shot put, placing 27th.
Kamiak’s Miller Warme, representing GLS Speed Track Club, finished sixth in the Championship Division of the 400 meters with a time of 48.28 seconds. Warme, a junior who placed third in the 110-meter high hurdles at the 2025 state meet, also placed 21st in the 55-meter hurdles and 22nd in the 60-meter hurdles at the Nike Indoor.
Beard and Warme each earned All-American status by placing in the top eight of an event.
Jeshua Singletary, a key member of King’s 2025 boys track state championship squad, anchored a GLS Speed relay that placed seventh in the 800-meter relay in 1 minute, 28.78 seconds. Singletary placed 33rd in the 200 meters (22.73 seconds), 34th in the 55 (6.53) and 35th in the 60 (7.01)
Mountlake Terrace’s Allison Merwin placed second in the Emerging Elite division of the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 1.75 inches.
