Adults recognize taxes are needed

Wall street is doing fine, creating wealth for some, but we now also know it can implode. Manufacturing is producing record profits by exporting the jobs. Don’t forget oil, who we subsidize to drill so they can refine, export and charge us for the privilege. None of these groups want to see any type of regulation and they don’t have to worry ‘cause Congress is busy.

A sitting member of Congress quotes Leviticus to defend an opinion on homosexuality (stone them to death) while another member argues “but that’s the Old Testament” and was met with “but it’s the Bible.” I do not believe any of us wants government ran according to the Old Testament. In that book the sentence for picking up sticks or working on the Sabbath was death.

President Obama wasn’t my choice in 2008, but the Republican theory of laying off cops and teachers, letting banks play Vegas, making drastic cuts to the needy, favoring export laws driven by China and being embraced by ultra capitalists but … refuse to raise revenues, ain’t going to cut it. Face it folks, the only adult in the room is the president. We watched a lot of this same show before. It was called ‘“Bush Theater.”
