Kids can be a hero for Danger Busters day

Capes on, superheroes!
Imagine Children’s Museum staff members will dress as superheroes, and they encourage kids to do the same, for an upcoming Danger Busters event, because it’s heroic to learn about safety.
Everett police officers and firefighters will talk about safety from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters will also guide children through a house-fire scenario.
Kids can learn about the brain’s fragility and the importance of helmets through an experiment with a gelatin mold. They may watch or join in karate demonstrations to learn about self-defense. And for anybody who wants to get all wet, a water-balloon-throwing station will be set up to show why it’s good to wear eye protection while playing sports.
The children can make “safety suitcases” to carry home all the safety information they pick up.
Danger Buster events are free with the usual museum admission of $7.50 for guests over age 1.
