Man arrested after Lynnwood couple shot at
LYNNWOOD — A Mountlake Terrace man was arrested Monday for first-degree attempted murder after allegedly shooting about eight rounds at a man and a woman in Lynnwood.
No one was hurt, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Session said.
The pair, who knew the suspect, had spoken with him late Saturday at a Lynnwood bar. Early Sunday, the pair were confronted by the suspect in the 19500 block of 56th Avenue W., according to court documents.
The man allegedly fired about four shots at the man and the woman from about 30 yards away. The man who was being shot at approached the suspect, who fired a shot that landed near the man’s foot. The suspect fired more rounds as the pair walked away.
A neighbor called 911 and the suspect was re-arrested Sunday with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun and booked into the Lynnwood jail on misdemeanor charges and later released, Session said.
On Monday, the man who had been shot at reported the incident to police, she said.
Police arrested the suspect without incident and booked him into the Snohomish County Jail. A judge on Tuesday ordered him held on $100,000 bail.
‘Git-R-Done’ robber sought by police
He’s been dubbed the “Git-R-Done” bandit and is wanted in connection with two bank robberies in Snohomish County.
The man is believed to be responsible for a robbery Dec. 3 at a Key Bank in Mill Creek. He handed over a note demanding money and told the teller to put the cash in a plastic bag he brought. FBI agents believe he also hit the Verity Credit Union in Lynnwood on March 5.
No weapon was seen during either robbery.
Witnesses described the bandit as a white, large-framed man, with a beer gut.
“Git-R-Done” is a catch-phrase used by comedian Larry the Cable Guy.
Mukilteo: Man missing at Mount Rainier
Search crews on Mount Rainier spent Tuesday looking for a missing 45-year-old Mukilteo man, officials said.
A ranger noticed the man’s car Monday night and learned Devin Ossman was reported missing by his wife earlier in the day, said Lee Taylor, a National Park Service spokeswoman.
Four teams searched unsuccessfully in the Kautz Creek trailhead area near Longmire on Tuesday, Taylor said. A bloodhound assisted in the effort.
Teams were expected to resume the search today. A helicopter will take part if the weather allows, Taylor said.
Arlington: Man killed by forklift identified
The man who died in a forklift accident Friday near the Arlington airport was identified by the Snohomish County medical examiner as Paul Pedersen, 35, of Camano Island.
Pedersen’s death was ruled accidental, the medical examiner said. He died as a result of mechanical asphyxiation.
Dispatchers got a 911 call around 1:45 p.m. Friday that a man was trapped by a forklift in the 19300 block of 59th Avenue NE, Arlington city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
The man worked in the industrial park near the airport.
Rescuers were unable to resuscitate the man, Banfield said.
The state Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the incident. It’s the second industrial accident in the area in the past six months. In late November, a 41-year-old Lake Stevens man died while he worked around heavy machinery at ACS Industries in the same area.
