Mariner High School’s dance program will hold its 2015 Senior Showcase Holiday Extravaganza with shows at 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the school’s auxiliary gym.
Tickets are $5, with half of the proceeds going to a charitable cause.
This year the dancers voted to support Project Teddy, a Nevada nonprofit aimed at helping children with cancer and their families.
The school is at 200 120th St. SW in south Everett.
Nativities on display: The Arlington Nativity Festival is Thursday through Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Smokey Point.
Hundreds of nativities from around the world will be displayed and local musicians plan to perform during the event.
The festival is open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The church is at 18222 43rd Ave. NE.
Admission and parking are free. For more information, go to arlingtonnativityfestival.org.
Toll lane love: Street Smarts wants to hear from Snohomish County drivers who regularly pay to use the express toll lanes on I-405.
Why do you pay a toll to travel the lanes? Tolls recently peaked at $9. Did you pay it? How much would you pay? Send an email to streetsmarts@heraldnet.com, or call reporter Melissa Slager at 425-339-3432.
