Arlington: City offices closed

In honor of Thanksgiving, all city offices are scheduled to close today and Friday. They will reopen on Monday.

Marysville: Holiday parade coming up

The city of Marysville is still seeking entries for its annual holiday parade, “Merrysville for the Holidays,” planned for Dec. 1.

The event features a parade of lights that begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 1049 State Ave., and continues south to Fifth Street. The city is seeking parade entries from businesses, groups, organizations and churches in the area. The deadline to enter is Thursday and the cost is $10.

Camano Island: Learn about doctors

A health educator from Skagit Valley Hospital plans to give a presentation titled “Get the Most From Your Medical Appointments” on Wednesday.

The lecture is scheduled for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Camano Senior &Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

Calypsa Padon plans to teach participants how to find a doctor that meets their needs, go to appointments prepared and use the Internet for medical purposes.
