Shame on students for not calling 911

Regarding the Wednesday article, “2 jailed in beating of Mukilteo freshman”:

The Adams family may correctly believe no gang activity exists at Kamiak. I just hope it’s true and not a case of being in denial. There’s a false perception that gangs consist of only poor blacks and Hispanics. Look at the music, culture, fashion, dance, language, et al, of youth these days – it’s all gangsta.

Combine that with the fact that no kid wants to be pegged as a snitch, and is it any wonder why problems may not be known until something dreadful happens?

And what about the kids who watched what happened and did nothing? Shame on them. Shame on the parents for not teaching them what’s right. Calling 911 from a cell phone is pretty darn easy.
