The Department of Social and Health Services plans to bring its mobile community services office to Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Ave. W. People can apply for cash, basic food and medical assistance. The mobile office is scheduled to be open from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Sponsor needed for Snow Goose run: The Stanwood-Camano Chamber of Commerce is looking for sponsors for the first Snow Goose Fun Run, a 5K race planned for Feb. 26 during the annual Port Susan Snow Goose and Birding Festival. The race is meant to raise money for the new Stanwood-Camano YMCA, which opened this year. Interested sponsors can call or message 360-629-0562.
Interns needed for baby animal season: Sarvey Wildlife Care Center in Arlington is looking for interns for 2017. The center cares for native wildlife with the goal of rehabilitating animals and releasing them back into the wild. The internships are unpaid but housing can be provided for up to four people on site and hours can be used toward earning a state wildlife rehabilitation license. Applicants should have a general knowledge of the physiology of mammals and birds. Students in veterinary science, wildlife rehabilitation or related fields may apply.
