Pat Metheny hit the jazz scene in the 1970s, creating a bold new sound on his guitar.

Making fresh use of a guitar’s synthesizer, Metheny staked a place for himself along other jazz guitar legends and over time has become a legend all his own.

H

is compositions are smart and often etherial, and bring together a range of influences from around the musical world.

Metheny, 57, is one of many jazz and blues greats scheduled to play at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley this fall.

Also in the lineup are Branford Marsalis, Dr. John, James Farm featuring Joshua Redmond, the Family Stone, the Manhattan Transfer, Rickie Lee Jones and Taj Mahal, among many more.

Jazz Alley has over the years built its reputation as one of the premier jazz clubs on the West Coast.

The two-tiered room is comfortable and intimate. Fans get an up-close view of the performers and, most importantly, great sound.

All this means fans will be able to see and hear the younger Marsalis brother work his magic on the soprano saxophone.
