TRI-CITIES — A final defendant in a multiyear timecard fraud case at Hanford has been sentenced to pay a $7,500 fine.
The Tri-City Herald reports Glenda Davis had been a radiological control supervisor for a former Hanford tank farm contractor. She was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to pay the fine.
Davis had been scheduled to go to trial, but she changed her plea to guilty and became a cooperating witness for the federal government.
Prosecutors had requested close to a $20,000 fine to cover the estimated cost to the government of hours falsely claimed by workers that Davis and a fellow supervisor approved in 2008.
Davis’ attorney says her attempts to get workers to correctly submit their time was rarely supported by the Hanford contractor, her co-workers and other supervisors.
