Learn about plants
The Adopt a Stream Foundation offers a native plant walk.
The walk is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. People need to buy tickets in advance. Admission is $5 for members, $7 for non-members.
Naturalist Tom Noland will teach participants to identify native plants they are likely to encounter.
After the walk in the woods, the group will learn how to preserve leaves using a plant press.

Breakfast in Mill Creek: The Mill Creek Senior Center offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 to 11 a.m. May 17 at Merrill Gardens Retirement Community, 14905 Bothell Everett Highway in Mill Creek.
There will be waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea, and juice. The suggested donation is $10.

Youth suicide forum: The Arlington High School Booster Club has gathered together experts on the subject of youth suicide for a set of free community forums that continue this week.
Drug and alcohol abuse and how they relate to youth suicide is the topic Wednesday, and bullying and its forms and effects is the topic Thursday. The forums are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. Other forums designed to make community members aware of suicide among young people are set for May 25 and 26.
