Frogs continue to mash in 4th straight win over Emeralds

EUGENE, Ore. — The Everett AquaSox entered Saturday’s game against the Eugene Emeralds leading the High-A West league in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, walks, runs scored and runs batted in.
Everett proved once again why it has the best offense in the league by a wide margin.
Eight different AquaSox batters had multiple hits as the team pounded out 19 total, George Kirby fanned 11 in seven dominant innings and Everett rolled to a 13-1 win over Eugene at PK Park for its fourth straight victory.
Austin Shenton and Jake Anchia led the offensive outburst with two hits, a home run and three RBI each. Connor Hoover and Kaden Polcovich had three hits each, and Patrick Frick, Zach DeLoach, Jack Larsen and Cade Marlowe each added a pair of knocks. Frick had a home run among his two hits.
Kirby allowed only one earned on four hits in his longest outing of the season for Everett (38-19). He walked only one and lowered his earned-run average to 2.56. David Ellingson tossed two hitless innings to close the game and lowered his season ERA to 0.77.
Carter Aldrete hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for the only run for Eugene (34-24).
