EVERETT — After the first three sets were decided by two points each, Monroe won the league opener for both teams with a fourth-set score of 25-13 for a 3-1 victory. Everett (1-3 overall, 0-1 league) won the first 25-23, followed by Monroe (5-0, 1-0) winning by scores of 26-24 and 25-23. Shanara Peebles led the Bearcats with 22 kills, along with Maddie Walker’s 16 digs and Alexis Walker’s eight digs, four aces and 25 assists . Everett’s main contributor were Ava Gonzalez (18 kills, four aces and 17 digs), Ava Urbanozo (35 assists, three kills, 23 digs) and Lauren Desimone (10 kills, three digs).

Snohomish 3, Marysville Pilchuck 0

MARYSVILLE — The Panthers won their league opener and improved to 2-3 overall with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 sweep of the Tomahawks (3-2, 0-1). Heidi Chambers (nine kills, 13 digs), Maggie Cavanaugh (23 assists, three aces, five digs) and Lauren Rice (14 digs) guided Snohomish. The Tommies received six kills and 17 digs from Alicio Cordero and three kills, nine assists and 14 digs from Darina Glassburn.

SNOHOMISH — The Grizzlies (6-0 overall, 3-0 league) remained perfect with a 25-13, 25-12, 26-28, 25-19 triumph over Jackson, which fell to 3-2, 1-2.

Kamiak 3, Cascade 1

MUKILTEO—The Bruins (2-3 overall, 1-2 league) won the first set 25-15, but Kamiak swept the next three, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-10. The Knights (2-3 overall, 1-1 league) were led by Kennedy Horne’s nine kills and 12 assists. For Cascade, Amara Williams registered 10 kills and a block while Maggie Christensen added 19 assists, a kill and block.
