What better way to get in the holiday spirit than a week’s fling behind the wheel of the 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE R 75 all-wheel drive sport coupe.

The Jaguar F-TYPE is the definitive sports car from a rich bloodline spanning 75 years and including some of the most iconic models ever built. In coupe or convertible form, F-TYPE offers a perfect balance of visceral performance and driver reward with a muscular, assertive design and a cabin defined by luxurious materials, exacting craftsmanship and exquisite details.

To celebrate the final model year of the F-TYPE, and 75 years of Jaguar sports cars, customers cab choose from the F-TYPE 75 or F-TYPE R 75 special editions along with the R-Dynamic F-TYPE.

All are powered by a supercharged, 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The combination delivers 575 horsepower, 516 lb-ft of torque, an electronically limited 186 miles per hour top speed, and a 0-to-60 miles per hours in a blood racing 3.5 seconds. The two-seater topped out at 19 miles per gallon fuel economy in combination city/highway driving.

Customers benefit from the “Quiet Start” function, which ensures a more subtle, refined start-up sound: electrically actuated bypass valves in the rear silencer remain closed until they automatically open up under load, releasing the signature roar which has always been fundamental to the F-TYPE driving experience.

It will make you hair stand on end and deliver goosebumps the first couple times.

The torque on-demand all-wheel drive system with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics technology – standard on the R 75 – further enhances traction and dynamics – on various surfaces and in just about any weather – while maintaining the characteristic rear-wheel drive feel and handling balance of the F-TYPE.

F-TYPE continues to set the benchmark for driver-focused sports cars. Double wishbone front- and rear suspension, meticulously tuned electric power-assisted steering and torque vectoring by braking deliver outstanding agility and a truly connected feel.

F-TYPE R 75 comes with exceptional agility, delivering a truly involving, engaging experience with immediate and intuitive responses to every driver input. Curated exclusivity is achieved with unique interior and exterior design elements that ooze luxury.

Every F-TYPE in the range is offered with a model-specific 20-inch wheel as standard, with the F-TYPE 75 and R 75 distinguished by their gloss black, five-spoke- and gloss black diamond-turned 10-spoke design and clamshell hoods.

The rear haunches enhance the inherently dramatic, purposeful form and sweep downwards to the slender rear LED lights. Quad, outboard exhausts – featuring subtle etched R branding on R 75 models – emerge from the rear diffuser, clearly signaling its performance intent. A spoiler automatically ascends at freeway speeds to ensure rubber meets the road.

My favorite interior features included Windsor, heated and ventilated leather bucket seats with side bolsters for outstanding comfort, fixed panoramic roof, Meridian sound system, 10-inch touchscreen navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, USB port and bright metal pedals.

Safety features almost seem an afterthought on the F-TYPE, but extremely important. Highlights include dynamic stability control, emergency brake assist, front and rear parking aids, blind spot assist, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic monitor, adaptive speed limiter, and a rear camera.
