Austin band Nelo heats up the Everett waterfront on Thursday

Nelo will bring a little bit of Texas to the Everett waterfront this Thursday night, as the group plays a free show at Port Gardner Landing.

The indie band hails from Austin, TX. Nailing down its sound is a bit tricky. The group mixes together rock and country, but never loses its pop bent.

The group’s self-titled debut found some fans, hitting No. 21 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers album chart. The group will play music from that album, as well as tracks from its recently released EP, “Two Years Ago.”

Hear tracks from both releases at the group’s MySpace page.

Then, the Thursday night waterfront concert series continues on Aug. 13 with a show by Vancouver, B.C.’s the Paperboys. The group will perform some of the sunny folk that has made it a familiar face at the Triple Door in Seattle.

All shows in the series take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Port Gardner Landing, 1700 W. Marine View Dr., Everett. Learn more about all of Everett’s free summer concerts by clicking here.
