As a thank-you to fans, Coldplay began giving away a 40-minute live album this morning.
The album, “LeftRightLeftRightLeft,” can be downloadedby following this link.
Fans going to the group’s July 11 show at the Gorge don’t need to download the album, however. The group will give away the disc at its remaining live shows in 2009, excluding festival appearances.
According to Billboard, the 9-track album was recorded at various stops during the group’s “Viva la Vida” tour.
The disc is heavily weighted towards new material. Outside the tracks “Hardest Part,” “Fix You,” and “Clocks,” all these songs came out in the past year on the group’s past two releases, the LP “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” and the EP “Prospekt’s March.”
Here’s the tracklist:
1. Glass of Water
2. Clocks
3. 42
4. Strawberry Swing
5. Hardest Part / Postcards from Far Away
6. Viva la Vida
7. Death Will Never Conquer
8. Fix You
9. Death and All His Friends
The group has one other official live album, “Live 2003,” which was released as both a CD and DVD. The CD has gone gold, and the DVD has gone sextuple platinum.
So, worth noting, the hugely popular group could have made some bank by releasing “LeftRightLeftRightLeft” in stores.
