Some of the nation’s funniest people are converging here next week for the Seattle Festival of Improv Theater.
Though the festival is in its eighth year, audiences are promised new and hilarious material as the organizers aim to find the funniest and most innovative improv comedy out there in Austin, Santa Monica or points beyond to bring here.
The festival, put on by Wing-It Productions and Unexpected Productions, features several hometown Seattle troupes too, including Dirty Laundry, Bunker 13, Unexpected Theatre, Quiet Monkey Fight, Puppet TV, Improsia and Gillett &Sutton.
Visiting troupes include French Farce, Girls Girls Girls and Ninjavocation.
The Seattle Festival of Improv Theater’s schedule runs at 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Feb. 19, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Feb. 20, and 6 p.m. Feb. 21, with shows at the Historic University Theater, 5510 University Way NE, and The Market Theater, 1428 Post Alley, both in Seattle.
