Lake Whatcom Railway: Celebrate Easter with a ride on an old-fashioned train with cars dating back to 1910. Departures will be at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16. Tickets, which typically sell out early, are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 2 to 17 and must be purchased in advance. Trains leave from Wickersham Junction about 10 miles north of Sedro-Woolley on Highway 9. The Easter Bunny is expected to make an appearance and give out chocolate eggs. • Lego challenge, 1 p.m. March 19, ages 5 to 12, Mountlake Terrace branch, 23300 58th Ave. W.; 425-776-8722. Aspiring builders can work independently or in teams to compete in a special challenge. Parents are invited to participate and share ideas, expertise and enthusiasm. Legos are provided.

• Games day, 12:30 to 2 p.m. March 25, ages 5 to 11, Darrington branch, 1005 Cascade St.; 360-436-1600. School will be dismissed early. Drop by for an afternoon of games. Bring a game you would like to share with friends.

• After-school Lego club, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 25, Marysville branch, 6120 Grove St.; 360-658-5000. Take on a challenge or build your own fabulous creation.

• Let’s dance, 11 a.m. March 26, ages 1 to 5, Mountlake Terrace branch, 23300 58th Ave. W.; 425-776-8722. This is disco for babies. Enjoy music guaranteed to get the preschool set moving.

• Sing a song of spring with Eric Ode, 11 a.m. March 26, Snohomish branch, 311 Maple Ave.; 360-568-2898. Enjoy springtime songs and stories, some well known and well loved, and many brand new. Hand actions, fingerplays, flannel board and other props, puppets and activities are part of this interactive morning.

• Spring fling, puppets, please, 11 a.m. April 2, Lake Stevens branch, 1804 Main St.; 425-334-1900. Children are seated in a semicircle on the floor around an arena-style performance area, where handcrafted marionettes perform.

• Nice dragons and mean princesses, 1 p.m. April 2, ages 6 to 11, Mountlake Terrace branch, 23300 58th Ave. W.; 425-776-8722. Discover fairy tales you’ve never heard before and play creative fairy tale games.

• “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination,” March 19 to May 8; see more than 80 authentic costumes, interactive displays, models and props from all six “Star Wars” film, and explore futuristic technologies found in the films and compare them with real-world scientific progress.
