Sketch the outdoors: Do you love outdoor scenery? Have you always dreamed of channeling your inner artist? If so, you might enjoy “Art in the National Parks,” a free class for adults on Saturday. Seattle artist Molly Hashimoto will explain how to keep journals and sketch the outdoors using simple tools such as water-soluble pens, pencils and small watercolor kits. Supplies will be provided. The class is offered twice, at 11 a.m. at the Marysville branch of Sno-Isle Libraries, 6120 Grove St., and at 2 p.m. the same day at The Granite Falls Branch at 815 E Galena St. Go to www.sno-isle.org to register.

Go skiiing: The Stevens Pass ski area plans to open for the season on Saturday, with at least a 25-inch base. Read more about it here.

Make a holiday ornament: The Schack Art Center is offering holiday ornament making classes for all ages where participants can make a holiday ornament in 20 minutes or less. You’ll get to work with one of Schack’s skilled glassblowers to design and blow a glass holiday ornament. This family-friendly class features holiday music and hot glass. To ensure a spot, sign up online ahead of time at www.schack.org. Ornament making begins Sunday and runs through Dec. 21. Cost is $30.

Peruse pottery: Decorative and functional pottery, garden art, birdbaths, mirrors, mugs, bowls and more will be for sale at an annual sale featuring local artists. The sale is 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Dayton Ave., Edmonds.

Walk like a zombie: Trying to start an annual tradition, Piccadilly Circus English Pub &Steakhouse of Snohomish is holding a zombie walk at 7 p.m., Saturday. The walk is scheduled to start at the pub located in 1104 First St., and would go through First Street and end at Piccadilly. Stop for dinner first or feast on BRAINS.
