There will be about 3,000 pounds of sausages and nearly 36,000 pounds of sauerkraut served in Everett this weekend.
It’s time for the 34th annual Everett Sausage Fest.
New this year: Add tacos to the heaps of fair-style food. There’s plenty more, too, including elephant ears, corn on the cob and french fries.
But beer, bratwurst and pickled cabbage are the stars of the show.
Bands will provide live entertainment.
Saturdays’ mainstage acts will include British Export, a Beatles tribute band, playing from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Cherry Cherry, a Neil Diamond tribute band, playing from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and The Gothard Sisters from Edmonds playing Celtic music from 8 to 9 p.m.
Local favorite Gerry Andal and the Roughriders will play from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Rides will give kids something to do while parents fill up on grilled ground pork.
Typically as many as 15,000 people dine on brat and brine at the fundraiser for the Immaculate Conception’s Catholic school.
This year should be no different, volunteer Frauna Hoglund said.
“We’ve got lots to eat and rides to go on and arts and crafts,” Hoglund said.
Admission is free, but the organizers hope you’ll drop some cash on rides and food to help raise as much as $75,000.
“It’s a good time,” Hoglund said, “it’s geared to families and everybody has fun.”
