‘Clewless’ crew helps teach sailing: Families can tour and sail aboard a 32-foot ketch July 19 during a free open sail event hosted by the Clewless, an Everett Sea Scout group.
The Sea Scout program caters to youth and young adults ages 14 to 21, helping them learn to sail.
The open sail event lasts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., July 19, leaving from the visitor’s dock next to the Everett Yacht Club, 404 14th St., Everett. Interested individuals should call Skipper Clay Canfield in advance at 425-471-6578. Additional information is available at www.clewless.3h.com.
And don’t worry about the name of the group, Clewless — these guys are pros. The name is a play on “clew,” a nautical term related to the lower aft corner of a sail.
