Band bash: Somehow, a Saturday afternoon in the park doesn’t make us think of hardcore music, but oh well.

Nine local unsigned bands will play Lynnwood’s Rock-It Fest, churning out a variety of styles, including prog rock, punk, metal and hardcore.

Admission to the all-ages show is free. However, if you bring three cans of food for the Lynnwood Food Bank, you score a raffle ticket that could win an Xbox 360 or an electric guitar.

The event, which also includes video game stations, runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Wilcox Park, 5215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. For more information, visit www.LynnwoodArts.org or call Marianne Johnson of the City of Lynnwood at 425-670-5518. More information is available through Mountlake Terrace’s Rock-It Music, 425-774-0795.
