Spaghetti sauce is quick fix

Amid the busy days of preparing big festive spreads, there’s still a need for a fast, bright, simple dish to keep the family fed. This pasta dish, which takes under half an hour to make, is ideal for that hungry moment.
The recipe is adapted from one in Food &Wine magazine’s "Quick From Scratch Pasta Cookbook" ($14.95 paperback).
In the following updated classic, use mild or hot Italian sausage, according to your preference. The ingredient list calls for red bell peppers but you can use green or one of each color.
