Michael Paller’s adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 16. As Charles Dickens celebrates Christmas Eve with loved ones, he convinces them to act out his most-beloved tale in the family home’s attic. Shows are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Barrie’s “Peter and Wendy,” the play isbased on the 2004 novel “Peter and the Starcatchers” by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Its playful story explores the depths of greed and despair, and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. Shows are 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The farcical comedy, based on O. Henry’s classic tale “Gift of the Magi,” is set in a 1940s radio studio as a live on-air broadcast. Village Theatre: Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.; 425-257-8600 or www.villagetheatre.org/everett. “Matilda the Musical,” showing Jan. 4 through Feb. 3, brings Roald Dahl’s magical misfit to the stage. The hit musical won five Tony Awards, seven Olivier Awards and was named Time’s No. 1 show of the year in 2013.

Snohomish High School: See “The Crucible” at the Snohomish High School Performing Arts Center, 1316 Fifth St.,Snohomish.
