Weekend reading: Nick Jonas, David Cook, Hank Williams

Rolling Stone knew that Nick Jonas, the main songwriter for the Jonas Brothers, was a big Elvis Costello fan, so they decided to get the two guys together to talk about fame and music.

The article basically acts as a Q&A piece, with both Costello and Jonas asking questions of the other.

That’s one of several articles that caught my eye this past week. Read on to link to it, and more.

  • Here’s that Rolling Stone article, in which Nick Jonas tells Elvis Costello fans can be a drag when they break into his home.
  • In a gimmicky Blender story, David Cook is offered a dowry of 100 camels while tending bar for charity.
  • Flaming Lips frontman hedges expectations on his movie “Christmas on Mars,” telling the L.A. Times it “could really just be dumb, boring arty bull.”
  • After talking politics, Randy Newman tells Pitchfork he resents the fact the Bush Administration practically forces entertainers to talk politics.
  • Hank Williams long-lost daughter got to know her dad through radio recordings, we find out in Newsweek.
  • Liam Gallagher tells Rolling Stone the song “I’m Outta Time,” which uses a recording of John Lennon’s voice, is kind of a nod to Lennon. Case you didn’t guess.
