SPOKANE — A man wounded in a machete attack in Spokane needed more than 100 stitches to sew up cuts to his head and face.

The 18-year-old, Eddie Ramsey, also suffered a broken wrist in Wednesday’s attack. He told The Spokesman-Review he thought he was going to die.

Police say the attack was unprovoked. A man who had been reported behaving strangely, 49-year-old Douglas W. Harmon, was arrested for investigation of assault. Police used a stun gun to subdue him after a short standoff.
