Around noon, firefighters responded to reports of two houses on fire in the Valley View neighborhood in the 7300 block of East Heather Way, Everett Fire Department spokesperson Rachael Doniger said.

The fire burned down a nearby power pole, Snohomish County PUD spokesperson Aaron Swaney said.
Around 2 p.m., firefighters extinguished the flames, Doniger said. Firefighters encountered difficulties as the neighborhood has a narrow road and firefighters had to lay “a lot” of fire hose on the street, she added.
No injuries were reported. It was unclear how many residents were displaced. The department cautioned drivers not to drive over the fire hose on the street.
