LONGVIEW — When Oregon authorities asked for cross-border help in locating a man who fled on foot after a Rainier, Ore., police pursuit, Cowlitz County sheriff’s deputies dropped by a home near Longview.

There they found a man they described as nervous. They also found a Ford Taurus on Monday that had been stolen during a burglary that occurred a short distance from where the Oregon pursuit ended. After deputies got a search warrant, Chief Criminal Deputy Charlie Rosenzweig says they found more than $7,000 worth of property reported stolen in the burglary.

Deputies also found a stolen horse trailer, stolen license plates and a large box containing several hundred keys.

Cowlitz County sheriff’s officers arrested 42-year-old Donald Emery for investigation of possessing a stolen vehicle and stolen property.
