SMOKEY POINT — A Bow woman was airlifted to a Seattle hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing on a motorcycle Monday night on I-5 near Smokey Point.

The woman, 50, was southbound just north of Highway 531 when the Harley-Davidson she was riding went off the road and hit the cable barrier along the left shoulder around 6:18 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. No one else was injured.

The cause was under investigation.
