LYNNWOOD — A boy was hospitalized Monday night after nearly drowning in Martha Lake.
The boy, 7, was with family at the lake east of Lynnwood at a busy swimming area, according to South County Fire. He was under the water and unconscious when someone noticed and got him to the dock and people performed CPR.
When emergency responders got there, the boy had a pulse and was breathing. They took him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he was in critical condition.
South County Fire recommends watching children at all times when they’re near or in water, wearing a life jacket that fits and learning CPR and basic water rescue skills through two free online classes at southsnofire.org/classes.
