Volunteer: Help out at Days of Caring
Registration is open for United Way’s Days of Caring, planned for Sept. 23 and 24.
Projects are available throughout Snohomish County and continue to be added daily. Teams and individual volunteers can go to www
.uwsc.org and click on “Days of Caring” or “Volunteer” to find projects.
Hands-on projects include painting, building, cleaning, environmental projects and reading to kids.
Agencies can register their Days of Caring projects through Aug. 31. Individual volunteers may register through Sept. 12.
A total of 950 volunteers gave 5,225 hours during the Days of Caring last year, said United Way spokeswoman Deborah Squires

Give: Help senior center raise money
Folks at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center are asking the public to help them raise “a mile of quarters.”
The fundraiser is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6, starting at the senior center, 5605 235th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace. The seniors have calculated that the mile of quarters will come to $15,840.
The Mile of Quarters will travel down 56th Avenue and cross many intersections ending at the Evergreen baseball playfield. There will be a family event with a backyard picnic and outdoor games.

See: Annual tractor show planned
The Sky Valley Stock and Antique Tractor Club is planning its 23rd annual show next week.
The show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 12 through Aug. 14 at the Frohning Farm, 19524 Tualco Loop Road, Monroe. Events include tractor parade, daily pancake breakfast, entertainment and kids’ activities.
Admission is $6 for adults, free for children under 12. Seniors get in free on Aug. 12.

Visit: Benefit for animal charity
Art patrons and animal lovers are invited to an art show benefitting the Northwest Organization for Animal Help.
The event features live music, wine tasting, silent auction, games and prizes and the pet-themed art show at the gallery.
The benefit is from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at Gallery by the Bay, 8700 271st St. NW, Stanwood. All proceeds go to N.O.A.H.
Tickets are $15. Tickets can be purchased at the gallery in advance or at the door, or at N.O.A.H., 31300 Brandstrom Road, Stanwood.
