SNOHOMISH — Connelly Road in rural Snohomish County is expected to reopen by week’s end.
The road, in the Cathcart area, has been closed between Kenwanda Drive and Elliot Road since Oct. 3 while Snohomish County Public Works crews make repairs to a railroad bridge known as Bridge 34.
Snohomish County bought the rail line earlier this year.
As the new owners, the county is performing critical maintenance to the corridor, said Stephen Dickson, a special projects manager for Snohomish County Public Works. The work includes repairing the damaged timber stringers of the rail bridge that have been hit by trucks over the years.
