The Snohomish County Council is scheduled to interview three candidates Monday for a vacant judge position in Lynnwood at the South Division of District Court.
The three lawyers are all Edmonds residents: Beth Fraser Cullen, Doug Fair and Jeffery Goodwin.
All three were the top picks of a county bar poll, an evaluation of the Washington Women Lawyers’ local chapter and a screening committee appointed by the council. Seven originally applied to the post.
It’s up to the council to fill a district court vacancy, and the legislative body could announce its decision as early as Monday, said John Chelminiak, council chief of staff.
The vacancy occurred when Judge Steve Dwyer was appointed by Gov. Gary Locke to fill a vacant spot on the Snohomish County Superior Court bench after veteran Judge Joseph Thibodeau retired.
