BOTHELL — An Edmonds man was identified Thursday as the man shot to death after a police chase near Bothell.
Nickolas Michael Peters, 24, died from multiple gunshot wounds late Tuesday, on Highway 524 at North Damson Road, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy had been called to a disturbance around 10:15 p.m. in a nearby neighborhood. Moments later the deputy radioed that he was following a pickup as it drove wildly on the highway, which is also known as Filbert Road. At the end of the pursuit, Peters was shot and killed.
A woman in the pickup was unhurt.
No new details were released Thursday about what led up to the shooting. Police haven’t said if Peters had a weapon.
The incident is being investigated by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, a cadre of local detectives better known as SMART.
The detectives’ findings will be reviewed by the county prosecutor’s office.
