EVERETT — An Edmonds man was hospitalized Sunday evening after a driver hit him while he was on the shoulder of Highway 99.
The man, 39, was on the shoulder near a disabled car partially blocking the right lane at 10:10 p.m. in the 13000 block of Highway 99. A Lynnwood man, 29, heading north at the time, drove onto the shoulder and hit the Edmonds man and the disabled car, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The Edmonds man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The Lynnwood man was not injured.
Washington State Patrol troopers believe alcohol or drugs were involved, and they were investigating the collision.
