EVERETT — Everett Community College has received a grant to help students progress more quickly through pre-college and college math courses. The $122,858 grant comes from College Spark Washington, a foundation that funds programs designed to help low-income students prepare for college and earn degrees.
Everett Community College will use the grant to reorganize its pre-college math program to focus on real-world applications and support college math course goals. The school also will customize its first college-level math courses to help students along their career paths.
The school received a similar grant in 2014. The grant is one of several College Spark grants totaling $1.3 million made to colleges in school districts in Washington state.
