KITTITAS COUNTY — An Everett woman was injured on a hike in a national forest and had to be recovered and taken out on horseback Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, 27, was hiking with a friend on the Tuck Lake Trail in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest when she fell around 2 p.m. Her injuries were not critical, but she could not get out on her own, the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office said. Search and rescue volunteers from Kittitas County hit the trail, described as steep and rugged and about 25 miles north of the nearest town, Ronald, to get the woman out.
She was driven to a hospital in a personal vehicle.
